New Video

Hey y’all, check out a video we just put together from our December performance at Fusion in Kenosha, WI!

It’s Keb Mo’s “Soon As I Get Paid” done up acoustically with some photos. We’ll have the actual live video up soon!

2015-Time for a change

2015 is an exciting new year for Doug James and The Pocket, lots of new things on the way, however it is with sincere regret that we announce a parting of ways with one of our founding members, drummer Ron Schur. Ronnie will be pursuing other musical endeavors and focusing on his family and loved ones at this time. He put the whomp in our backbeat, the smack in our snare, and a smile on our faces song after song. Ron remains a supporter of DJP and we will most definitely encourage and support him in his future projects.DSC_1053

Happy New Year! Here’s a NEW song…

Here’s a New Year’s gift to all our friends and fans!

It’s called Vegan Off The Wagon, recently recorded at Fusion in a live acoustic setting. In keeping with DJP tradition, it’s another great story song, with a touch of humor and features Chuck on Mandolin! You can download this for free here Vegan Off The Wagon, along with songs from our CD “Leg Up”.

HAPPY NEW YEAR everybody!

With apologies to our vegan fans!

We had a great time playing a recent unplugged acoustic gig at Fusion in Kenosha, Wisconsin! What a great venue and a great guy, Don Miller, that owns and runs it! Really comfortable stage and room, the sound system and lighting are top of the line. Don video and audio tapes all performances, so we’ll have more of this show available soon here on our site and Bandcamp. Click below to hear it or click Listen at the topof the page to download it.
