Yep, travelling all the way to Dougie’s hometown, Adel, Iowa for this festival gig! All the corn you can eat! This is DJP’s first road trip and should prove to be quite an experience for Doug and the boys! If you happen to be in the area (20 miles west of Des Moines) stop on by, we play from 11:00AM til 2:00PM. Also guest guitarist Cliff Kuhlman will be joining us. For more info click Corn Fest!
Unfortunately we have to cancel our appearance due to circumstances beyond our control. We apologize if you had plans to come out and see us. The Taste of Wisconsin is still going on as planned and there will many other bands appearing, so don’t change your plans, go and suuport the other bands and the Kiwanis who organize this fest every year. Thank you.
Come out north of the border for our annual appearance at Taste Of Wisconsin in Kenosha! Lots of great food, beer, and bands on the lakefront, downtown Kenosha! Click Taste Of Wisconsin for more info. Come for the brats, stay for the band!
Back at one of our favorites clubs, Reggies, for a full Sunday night rockin’ good time! Music starts early at 7pm so no “I have to get up for work Monday” excuses! Finish out the weekend with some great music food and drink! Also appearing is The Electric Rag Band. Click Reggies for more info.

Hey y’all, check out a video we just put together from our December performance at Fusion in Kenosha, WI!
It’s Keb Mo’s “Soon As I Get Paid” done up acoustically with some photos. We’ll have the actual live video up soon!
Here’s a New Year’s gift to all our friends and fans!
It’s called Vegan Off The Wagon, recently recorded at Fusion in a live acoustic setting. In keeping with DJP tradition, it’s another great story song, with a touch of humor and features Chuck on Mandolin! You can download this for free here Vegan Off The Wagon, along with songs from our CD “Leg Up”.
HAPPY NEW YEAR everybody!
With apologies to our vegan fans!
We had a great time playing a recent unplugged acoustic gig at Fusion in Kenosha, Wisconsin! What a great venue and a great guy, Don Miller, that owns and runs it! Really comfortable stage and room, the sound system and lighting are top of the line. Don video and audio tapes all performances, so we’ll have more of this show available soon here on our site and Bandcamp. Click below to hear it or click Listen at the topof the page to download it.
Doug James and The Pocket are pleased to announce the release of their first collection of tunes, “LEG UP.” You can get it the old-school way – at gigs (you hand us $10, we hand you the disc) – or by download here djp6.bandcamp.com now, or CD Baby, iTunes, and Amazon soon. Any way you buy it, you get a full dance card of American Hip Shakin’ Music – nine originals and two covers that stamp our own attitude on the music we love: Blues, Funk, R&B, New Orleans . . .
To get a taste of it now, click the “LISTEN” tab at the top of the page. We hope it makes you feel good!
